- Jane Austen
“I could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine.”
― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
Jane Austen, born in 1775 in Kent, was the youngest of seven children. She spent much of her childhood with her sister and was influenced by her father's parsonage. After finishing school in Oxford, Jane began writing as a pastime and excelled in housekeeping and embroidery. Her exposure to middle-class society sharpened her imagination, and she wrote parodies and sentimental fiction. Jane's six full-length novels, published anonymously, have enthralled millions of readers over the years. She passed away at the age of 41 in 1817.
Jane Austen's six full-length novels have made her immortal in the world of English Classics. Interestingly, she chose to publish her classic novels anonymously, which have enthralled millions of readers over the years and inspired numerous Jane Austen fan clubs and active websites.
